Alece, my heart just aches for you. Your words echo mine from so many years ago, but God has faithfully redeemed my broken heart and life, and is writing my story more beautifully than I could have ever imagined. It’s been 25 years since I was where you are, but your words touched a deep place in my heart, a place of remembrance, but no more pain. Hold tight to His Hand and know, without doubt, without question that you are exquisite, fashioned by the Hand of the Creator, one of a kind, beautiful, priceless, precious, an irreplaceable treasure! Your words are a gift and offer hope in the midst of pain and loss and loneliness.
Holding you close in prayer, my beautiful, broken sister, knowing God is faithful to begin the good work He’s begun in you and will carry it on to His great glory!
With deep love in Christ,
Cindee
Hi, I am so sorry to hear about everything you have been through. I was at Thrive Africa on a missions trip in 2005 and was just checking in to see how things were going. Wow. Not sure what to say, wish I could give you a really big hug :) If you are ever in Iowa, USA and want to stay on a small rural farm and have a cup of tea you are always welcome. I pray God will shield you in His arms through the storms. Much love, Jessi
Thanks for sharing your heart with us..means a lot to me..
Alece,
Ten years ago I was in a similar place, my story slightly different but so familiar. I’m sad to say that I spent over five years grieving the loss of my marriage. The only upside during that time was that I eventually starting sleeping better, not anxious over where he was or what he was doing.
Five years in I finally got strong enough to go through a program called Divoce Care at my church. It helped tremendously. Today life is good but your story still resonates. I say that divorce is like shrapnel – every day it hurts less, some days it bothers you more than others but most of the time you forget it is there.
So much more to say but please know you are not alone. I wish you strength and peace.
Jill
Hi Alece, probably would not remember me. Julie from Clarkston Community Church in Michigan, USA. Was there with the kids mission group in 2005. Stayed in the “Windys”. Worked street ministry with children and visited the Caresh. I was the only mom on the trip. I looked for pictures and saw that on page 1 you mentioned scanning pics from the past. I clicked on word, started to show new additional site, then went back to other site. You asked us to mention if there were any glitches. I pray for your “Ignite” ministry. I pray peoples hearts will open. Julie C
My husband and I remarried 2 years ago after being divorced for 7 years. he says he never loved me and did it for the kids. I feel so stupid. How do you trust God when you feel so shattered?
Do you have an address that I can send something to? I would love that.
Sue
I am grateful to have stumbled across your blog, it has given me strength as I felt like a lot of what you have written has been from my own heart, thank you for sharing.
1. My name is Hector Dominguez and I am a Christian Rapper from Chicago IL. I am in the process of recording my first cd and it is entitled GOD IS GOOD. I was going through the internet looking for ideas on how to add more emotion to my album and I came across your post titled “God is Good” and it blew me away! I have felt this way for many years, and I know that I am a nobody to you but I was wondering if someway somehow you would allow me to use this for my cd. My initial idea was to put it at the end or beginning of my cd to either begin or to close with a BOOM but then I started thinking as a writer. I could never truly capture the heart and emotion and conviction behind your words because I did not write them! I was wondering if you were willing to could I maybe record you reciting your work of art? Please, I understand that you are probably out of the country but there have been many advances in the recording arts world and I would love to have you on my cd. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me at any time via twitter (@hectorwdomingez) or facebook (www.facebook.com/hector.w.dominguez) or email. Thank You and have a blessed day.
Alece,
Simply wanted to say that I loved your site and I am a huge fan of Brene Brown! I had an God encounter about living life loved before I was slated to do some worship at a conference with Wayne Jacobsen which confirmed all that I experienced. That was several years ago and I forge ahead in this raw abandon. I teach and stuff like that so if you are on Facebook you can find me using the email and then see what I post etc. I’d like that.
Bless you!
Jeff
