strengthened
“You strengthen me.”
Maybe to you that statement sounds like the infamously cheesy “You complete me” line from Jerry Maguire. Maybe it sounds too Hallmarkcardish, or like a ready-to-serve TV dinner.
But to me it sounds like pure love.
When Niel said those three simple words—“You strengthen me”—I shut my eyes tight to soak in the moment.
I sure do love my husband.

awhh….and you miss him

There is nothing that strengthens me than my husband touch and soft words.
I’m like ice cream on a hot CA sidewalk melted!!!
“my husband’s touch and soft words” — absolutely!
@mandythompson says:
ok seriously… that is amazing. really. i think it’s the epitome of what a “helpmate” is supposed to be.
oh my…. that is beautiful….
thank God for super duper awesome spouses!!!
:)
That’s all I’ve got.
mandy — i love that you used the word “epitome”. i love saying that word but it looks so wrong to me written out that i tend to shy from typing it. i’m glad you did.
Dang… now I will need to come up with a different line… :D
Although I do use the following code when leaving messages via email: 1-4-3, 7-3-6
1-4-3 – means I love you – the number of letters in each word.
7-3-6 – means forever and always…
michael — have you met my friend bob (love will bring us together)? he’s got a thing for numbers; you’d get along well.
do you only do that for your wife? (do you have a wife??)
sooo, since my wife is the female “anti-blogger”…this means i can steal that line???
absolutely.
as long as you come back and tell us how she responded…
will dooo!!! if i get opportunity to do sooo…
see that’s the thing. don’t wait for an opportunity. it doesn’t need to be a response to some big thing she does for you. if the sentiment is true, than it’s true even on a normal day with no crisis going on. hearing it then may mean even more…
context…i love my wife verrrrry much…but the first time i told her that i loved her…she put her hand over my mouth…timing is very important when telling her things!!!
PRECIOUS!
wow.
(I like seeing James’ smile again!)
Wow. I am glad you soaked in the moment. I hope it helped solidify that truth.
@tamhodge says:
i know we need to realize our significance is in the Lord. but…when those words are heard…wow. there is something that happens within us that is almost indescribable. wow. lovely!
awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww (deep breath) awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.. thats really sweet.
:)
I feel like I miss you today. hmph.
jon mark — wow, she slapped you, eh?! somehow you won her over i see…
becca — me, too!
tam — yes. you captured my heart exactly.
BM — you do? wow. thank you… you just want to hear that “brazilian” story!
You read my mind!!! heehee
Actually, seriously, that’s not a bad idea! ;-)
oh… someday… someday…
You have your man, your God, all your blogging buddies, all of “Thrive Africa”.
Alece, you are well and truly loved. I think that is because that’s exactley how you treat everyone you meet, with love and respect.
Now, I would also like to hear more about this ““brazilian” story you mentioned.
oh dear cow, ed! no can do! uhhh… bran? HELP!
thank you for everything else you wrote (definitely no thanks for your brazilian request! ha!).
Yeah. You’re right. It WAS pretty cheesy. But at least it goes good when you’re crackers!
Umm…WITH**
“goes good WITH** crackers”
That was a typo.
Really.
why do you have to get all racist on me?!?! SHEESH!
and WHAT was cheesy? niel’s line? or jerry maguire’s line???
@atangie says:
eloquent and beautiful
mmm…
right on
A quick ‘Fly-by’…
