“My beloved spoke, and said to me: “Rise up, my love, my fair one, And come away. For lo, the winter is past, The rain is over [and] gone. The flowers appear on the earth; The time of singing has come, And the voice of the turtledove Is heard in our land.”
Song of Songs 2:10-12
You thought it disappeared, but it didn’t. Time to clean up all that junk that was hidden under the snow!
Up here, the first sign of spring is not beautiful. It is that the melting piles of snow reveal all that trash and junk that was hidden all winter. Spring begins first with ugly, and as we clean up all our junk we begin to see the little shoots of life we didn’t even know were there.
