one word 2011 wrap-up

December is here. (Can you believe it?) And it’s got me wondering how your One Word journey has been.

I’m still amazed at the 300-people-strong community that rallied around the One Word challenge this year. I hope each of you, in unique and different ways, experienced your word come to life.

We would all benefit from hearing each other’s journeys.

So do us all a favor — yourself included — and make time this month to write a post about your own personal One Word journey.

The places it took you — inwardly and outwardly…

How it shaped your year…

How it shaped you

And where it leaves you as the year comes to an end.

Then come back and link up your Wrap-Up post so we can rally around one another for one last surge of encouragement, inspiration, and challenge as we conclude One Word 2011.

Don’t forget that the year isn’t over yet. Be intentional everyday about finishing strong.

You’ve got this.

And you’ve got an army of One Worders standing with you.

I’ve got some exciting things in the works for One Word 2012!
If you haven’t already, start thinking about your word for next year.

Congratulations to all who made it through the year.

  3. My one word – woman – resulted in a book (http://kingsdaughters21.blogspot.com/2011/01/being-woman.html) and a women’s conference (http://www.kingsdaughtersconference.co.uk/)! I can’t beleive what God has done through focusing on this one word!!!

My one word was – Connected- staying connected to God and to my family, especially to my children. As this year has ended, I have been noticing that it is becoming more of a struggle, but overall this has entirely changed things. I have seen my kids grow leaps and bounds in their own relationships with God. I realize this is something I have to continue on and not stop… they are so valuable to me. I am excited about picking out a new word for this year! The last two years has truly shaped and changed me and I am so ready for a new year of good things…. Thanks Alece for sharing your word challenge with me. :)

  5. My word this year was “dream.” And indeed I saw at least one come true. Thanks, Alece. For more than you know.

  6. I’m sorry. I linked before realizing it was a one word! I will come back later with a post that fits your category. Go ahead and delete my link. I have an On Your Heart Tuesday blog hop that I’d love to have you link up with.

I.am.so.excited! As I drove into Starbux this morning I was thinking about my word for the year… it has already started to percolate into a post. Yippee!

    And I already have my 2012 word. hoooooooeeeeey it’s a big’un.

  8. I was thinking about writing an update…maybe later this week. The summary of my year is this: I wanted my life, and specifically my writing, to me “more of Him and less of me”. With writing, I found that when I didn’t talk about me, I didn’t have much left to say. In life, I was able to focus on my family more (especially during the summer) and the year was quite good.

  9. My three words this year were fruitful, inheritance, and glory. I have seen so much fruit from my years of suffering that I now feel so blessed to walk in my spiritual inheritance and most importantly to see God’s glory. Thanks for doing this. Can’t wait for next year!!

  10. Justin says:

Alece – thanks for facilitating such a great experience for me this year! I’m looking forward to the 2012 One Word.

  11. I so appreciate your email reminder to update. My word–fearless–has been a huge part of my life even though I didn’t recognize just how much until I reflected more. Thanks and blessings to you, Alece.

    Know.

I think this will be a lifelong one word. Lots of changes inside me through this focus. Let’s see what God does with His new person.

Just finished my update and this year has been a blast. My One Word helped me through it. Thanks Alece!

  14. Lexi says:

My one word for 2011 was BRAVE and it has been one absolutely AMAZING year of growth and change. Thanks Alece! And congrats everyone!

  15. Suzie says:

Alece, Thank you so much for this. It was such a gift to me this year. I’m looking forward to 2012 with you :)

  16. It’s amazing to see and experience life when you become intentional and focused. By choosing to “pause” life lessons became clear and God’s presence became real in the toughest of circumstances and rich in the blessings this past year brought.

    My One Word 2012….

  17. I’m linking up so late with this…because I had a hard time writing this end of the year post. But I’m heading into 2012 with a new word, and a new understanding of how to do this (or maybe how NOT to do this?), and I’m excited.

  18. Thanks for the One Word push. I love it! I knocked off my review and my preview in one post. I’d add OneWord365 button thing, but honestly, I don’t know how to do that!

  19. A little late, but I’ve done my wrap-up :) Thanks Alese.
