Remember reading Choose Your Own Adventure storybooks when you were a kid? I loved those books.
But I cheated.
I’d read ahead and skim the different options to see how they all panned out. And then pick the best one. I wanted the most ideal outcome to every situation — the best story possible.
In some ways, I’ve tried doing the same exact thing with my life…

at a point when we were making a life changing decision, God showed me that i kinda viewed him like a bad game show host. like he presented me with the three doors, but only one was really, truly, His best Will….and the others would sound the “waa waa” and lead to some terrible demise….
my fil encouraged me with the thought that as we seek Him, His leading and will through prayer, and desire His best above our own sinful desires, we are protected and can step forward in faith when He presents opportunities. He will put things in front of us for us to choose and we can move forward in confidence since we are seeking Him in the global sense. it has been helpful for me to consider this. and, i have to say, as i have sought Him {in general, in my life} He has subsequently led me. i don’t know if this is helpful or not, but i do know that we can spin our wheels in erroneous thinking without even seeing our error.
