Memorial Service for Sara

Tonight is the memorial service for our beloved Sara at St. Stephens—the church in Cedar Falls, IA where she served for so many years.

We would love to have you join us as we mourn her passing and celebrate her life—together as her community and family, each in our own corner of the world.

Just as Sara would have loved it.

The service is at 6:30 PM Central Time. Please join us if you’re able. (And help spread the word online…)

Update: The memorial service was recorded… Watch here.

Thank you so much for doing this. And thank you for being the kind of friend you were to Sara. What a beautiful life she lived with such an amazing community of family and friends. So grateful to have stumbled upon your blog recently. God bless you Alece! :)

  3. Alece, you spoke beautifully, like I knew you would. You spoke what so many of us “blog” friends feel about “blog” friendships. Alece – well done – God bless and keep you!!

Hello Alece, I’m new to your blog – but just had to thank you for your words shared at the Memorial Service. I’m a reader in Switzerland, and just viewed the Memorial Service, thanks to Mandy’s recording. You shared beautifully how those of us around the world feel about Sara. Thank you so much and God bless.

  5. alece–don’t know what you and mandy had to do to make the memorial service ustream happen, but thank you thank you thank you! your words were beautiful too. i hope that you will blog more here now, when you feel ready. don’t want to lose track of those i came to know through the sara connection. (i’m laughing to myself right now, because you may not even know that i feel like i know you from the comments you made on gitz’s blog and what you’ve written here that i’ve read over the years, but you’re someone i care about just like i cared about sara, and just wanted you to know.)
