livin’ it up on the left coast

I’ve been to California a handful of times, but this was my first time to Los Angeles. Like a good tourist, I saw the Hollywood sign, went star-gazing down the Hollywood Walk of Fame, hit up Jamba Juice, and ate at In-n-Out.

But my favorite was spending time at Hermosa Beach, watching the waves and photo-stalking surfers.

And my favorite favorite was getting face-time with a couple of met-on-the-net friends. I had dinner with Marisa and breakfast with Sarah—and my heart felt so full!

And I loved waving goodbye to the California coast as we set sail for Mexico. I was a teensie bit excited. (And this, my friends, is what my “eeeeeeeeeeee!” looks like!)

My sweet Alece you are positively glowing! Gorgeous! Love the pictures and love how Daddy has (and will continue) loved on you through His people. Amazing! Missed you while you were gone and looking so forward to hearing all about it. Still praying! Love the new header pictures … ah, the beach would be so fun! LOVE YOU!

You are blessed to have good friends to rally around and pray for you and take you places of caring and comfort. When I lost my husband to cancer, people from church, were kind but very evasive. I was dropped like a hot potato for being a widow, you can always tell who your friends are, when there is a tragedy.

Shame on them – for being selfish. I did get over the sadness eventually, with very little family around me through God. I am blessed.

    • God’s brought strengthening people into my life in surprising ways throughout this whole season. never who i expect and always who i don’t.

i’m so sorry for the lack of support from your church when you lost your husband. i hate how common that seems to be.

  8. Don’t you just LOVE Sarah!? :) And I’ve always wanted to meet Marisa. SO HAPPY FOR YOU!!!

So glad to see you are taking some time out, just for yourself.

May the Lord renew your strength and help you soar on wings like eagle’s.

Kermit and In-n-Out Burgers – two of my favorite things!!! Eeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!

You know what came to mind as I looked at the pictures of those waves crashing like that? The song you love so much, “Oh How He Loves Us” by Kim Walker.

    Still praying.

I must protest! You post gorgeous photos of these lovely ladies, while the gypsy mama and I got… well… we won’t go back to that photo. Because no one really wants to, now, do we?

  14. Anna says:

Love it, thanks for showing us some of the fun you had!

  15. I love that you posted the pic of Kermit’s star! That’s my favorite star on the walk of fame. (It even beats out Disneyland’s!)

And I’m so glad I got to be a part of your LA experience
