in God i (want to) trust
I trust God. I do.
But I don’t always live like I trust Him.
So I’ve been talking to Him about that lately. Because I want to trust, not just in theory or words or intention, but with my whole heart. I want to trust His everything with my everything.
I started listing out the things I have the hardest time trusting Him with. But He interrupted me. And with His perfectly simple statement, He summed it all up:
“Trust Me in this — what I say about Myself and what I say about you.”
His words got my attention. It’s true—Since I don’t trust who He says He is, I can’t trust who He says I am. And those two foundational things are at the very core of all I need to work through in my life.
It’s time. I’m being intentional about growing in those areas of trust.
Because I don’t want to just say I trust Him. I want my life to actually show that I do.

this summed up my whole entire day.
Gods so goooood.

Another great post! I struggle in the same way. I went through the Beth Moore Believing God bible study several months ago and she gives a 5 statement pledge of faith that I try to repeat (when I remember to).
1. God is who He says He is
2. God can do what He says He can do
3. I am who God says I am
4. I can do all things through Christ
5. God’s word is alive and active in me
If I could just get those 5 things from my head to my heart, I think my faith would be indestructible! Thanks for reminding me of those today. I think I will make them my mantra for the day!

Now that is one to be chewed on. Wow.
It is a process and you are well into it. Sometimes I have to say outloud who He says I am because I know who He is and even then I still have to say it outloud. You are beautiful, beloved and worth all His effort. Love you!

Awesome!!!
There is NOTHING like when God interrupts like that, and cuts right through everything. It so reminds me of what Jesus would do, just ask that one question, or speak that one verse that gets immediately to the heart of the matter.
This post brought to mind a Leonard Ravenhill quote: “The only time you can really say that ‘Christ is all I need’ is when Christ is all you have.”
Still carrying you in my heart.
That is beautiful. I think we need to frame those words and put them on our desk. Or turn them into those sticky-things that look like they’re painted on your wall in elegant script. Come to think of it, why not just paint them on so they’ll never go away…
Good word, friend. I’ll be reflecting on this one for a while.
Another very thoughful post. You have such a gift for words.
You are on the right path, and that path is often not an easy one.
Faith isn’t something we just think about, it’s how we live.
