four-minute friday: time zones

Go.

Well, it’s almost midnight. Which means it’s almost Saturday. And I just realized I never four-minuted today. Yikes. i’ve got a few minutes left to still get it done on Friday. Although it’ll still be Friday in America for many more hours. And it’s already not been Friday in Australia for many hours. Time zones are a weird thing to think about. So I won’t think about that. Not right now anyway.

Although not thinking about time zones now has me thinking about my 17 hour flight next week. Yep, my next four-minute Friday will be written from New York. I have been so busy, I haven’t had much time to get too excited yet. But typing that right then? That made me smile really big.

I have an uncanny ability to (typically) sleep through almost the entire over-the-ocean flight. I love it. With my new short do, I’m anticipating landing in JFK with an amazing case of bedhead.

Done.

Hurray for the Red, White and Blue!

I pray that your travels are fruitful, fun and accomplish all you hope for and more. Blessings shall hunt you down and over take you. You will have such an abundance your storehouses will not be able to contain it. Grace will go before and behind you. You will eat the good of the land and everything you set your hand to will prosper. AMEN!

You are going to have a great time – I just know it.

    :-D

I’m so excited!! There’s just something about having you not-so-many-time-zones away that warms my heart… and that means my countdown to having some good Kitty time is getting smaller and smaller… YIPEE :) !!!

Alece, I am very impressed by anyone who can sleep in a plane, or a train, or a car. On anything but a bed I just toss and turn.

The first site of New York from the air always gave me gooses bumps. The smiles and hugs of family and friends you have not seen in awhile. What a great thrill. You now have friends on two continents. Making friends around the world.

Just think in four minutes, on the Internet, we can go from Africa to the US and on to Australia. The world is getting smaller, becoming one global village.

  6. time zones… yeah. i’ve never really thought about ‘em either. then crazy bloggers get in my head and make me think about what life is like on the other side of the planet, and what you’re doing when i’m doing what i’m doing. and i have to count: plus seven plus seven plus seven….
then the time goes and changes here.
then it’s plus six plus six plus six….

i’m just glad i don’t have to subtract like y’all do! my head would fall off

  7. I am sososososo excited for you and lets admit it….a little jealous as well. I am praying that it is everything you need it to be. Woo hoo.

  8. Alece, Ed and Mandy? Bless your hearts for thinking about lil old Aussie land! :-) Nice to know someone cares!

(We just lost an hour here last week thanks to Daylight Saving ending for our summer. Like the US and Africa we also have multiple time zones in our own country – not just with bloggers around the world – ah well)

Morning All – for another coupla hours in Africa anyways! :-) (is afternoon/evening here)

    love <B

Bedhead from a 17 hour flight is a badge of honor. Wear it well.

    Wear it proud.

  12. alece says:

i will wear it proud, talia! and think of you!

haha. I’m sure. That is the one thing about short hair – bedhead is a inevitable reality. I do the same thing! (Sleep through flights). I’ve only been on a few cross-Atlantic flights, but I do tend to sleep as much as possible on an airplane. It just puts me to sleep for some reason. Nice for the lack-of-jetlag it also brings. Or … at least less jetlag.

Seriously, hats are cool! It takes creativity to a whole new level! I must say, having had the privilege of flying with you more than once, that just thinking about past flights and memories made me smile and laugh- a lot! Thanks for the morning giggle!
    Peace
