four-minute friday: fleece is my favorite comfort food

four-minute friday 2Go.

I’ve been in DC since Wednesday. That was a hard day for me. Even as I type that, I can’t help but sigh with my eyes closed. All I wanted to do was wrap up in a warm cozy fleece. But I don’t have one. (Not with me in America anyway.)

As I waited for my flight I tweeted that fleece is the clothing equivalent of comfort food. I would’ve bought one right then if I could.

Instead my friend loaned me one the moment I arrived in DC.

It felt like a hug I could wear all day.

I needed that.

Never mind the fact that it’s ridiculously cold here. At least compared to the HTL. Mmmhmm. I just combined Hotlanta and The ATL to form my own brand new nickname for my current hometown.

So I’ll keep borrowing a fleece.

To stay warm and keep my heart feeling as hugged as possible.

From DC to the HTL.

Done.

Praying for you friend. Praying that you find something extra fun to do in DC that will cancel out the yucky part of being there. Enjoy the fall colors over a pumpkin latte and monuments (in your fleece of course!). Wish I were there with you…….I am missing home right now and could use a fleece, friend, and a good cup of joe too! :) Hugs!!

My clothing equivalent of comfort food (not that ya asked, but I figure you won’t mind) would have to be my ratty old slippers that are duct-taped on the bottom, but I can’t replace them because, well, because they’re just my favorite.

It’s been a while. I still love reading your thoughts. (hugs)

One can never have too many fleeces…and comforts…sometimes it is just what you need:) Hope that you enjoy a nice warm cup of chai while wearing a fleece today.

I also have a fleece I wear as a hug because of where I got it from. Enjoy your hug and hope you hold onto comfort in the middle of it all.

I’m glad your heart was hugged. Surely God must have fleecy bits.

  6. I spent many moments while I was home in MI snuggling in Fleeces, for it was cold there too! They ARE like a giant hug :) Love you!

Old Navy has a cool fleece with a big vneck they look a little more dressy than a hoodie one. Give yourself a hug from me. Love you

i am probably going to commit some sort of northwest-living faux pas, but I am not a big fan of the fleece. sure, I like the warmth and softness factors but the static shock i get EVERY time i touch ANYTHING causes me to limit my fleece-usage.

    if we were face to face, fleece wouldn’t stand in the way of me from giving you a big hug though! {smile}

How long are you in DC? I’m in DC. I would give you South African comfort food if I could – Mrs Balls Chutney and cadburys crunchies come to mind ;)
