fashionably late: my 100 things
January 26, 2009
Evidently it’s tradition in the blogosphere to publish 100 things about yourself for your 100th post. That mile-marker came and went unnoticed here at the Grit. Quite a while ago in fact.
So, in honor of my 600th post, I give you my 100 things.

I wasn’t aware of that centennial tradition. Cool. Congrats on your 600th post!

600? Wow.
I like runaway bride too.
Have you seen 27 dresses? That’s a new “favorite of mine”.
Okay I LOVE that list … one of my favorites is that your husband is the only man you’ve kissed … great decision on your part. I wish I had been so wise! :) I also love that there are a bunch of things on that list that we have in common … flushing public toilets with our foot, music moving us, motion sickness, books, eating out, bad at sports but love watching them, straight A’s, photography, and inconsistent face washing and teeth brushing (Phew! now I don’t feel so bad :)). And, especially numbers 98-100.
I am thankful for your friendship. Seriously, I hope one day I get to meet you in person and just hug your neck! Happy 600!
@danielleH says:
I’m only at 268 posts! dang, girl.
Good thing you didn’t have to write 600 things about yourself!
@moweezle says:
Wow! That was a lot of information and I loved reading all of it!!!
And 600 posts!!! Whew! Congrats :)
@cassgirl says:
I make alot of typos, I must totally freak you out :)
I’m not overly surprised bythe list.. That’s surprising.
I’ll just make sure I hug ya instead of shaking your hand. Hehehee!
Love ya!!!
“I’ve been know to feed the fish on boating trips” – you are such a caring person I can definitely see you on a fishing trip feeding the fish instead of trying to catch them.
Wow! 14.1 days is a lot of music. I have 9.3 days (music & podcasts) and thought that was a lot.
“I often sing as though I actually can.” I have heard you laugh. If you sing with as much passion as you laugh then it doesn’t make any difference what your voice actually sounds like, unless of course you are in front of a large audience. Do they pass our ear plugs when you sing in church?
With a graduating class of only ten girls which sports teams where you cheering on?
As far as college goes the question is what did you spend your time on instead? If it was missionary work I would think that was more valuable and rewarding. Going to college is also something you can do at any time. I have a friend who graduated from college last year, she was 76.

Loved your list! I, too, am an old lady pillow snob. Then again, I think I am older than you. And, while I’ve never become gravely ill from a tick bite, I was once bitten by a brown recluse spider. We are a pair, aren’t we?
As to the cheer squad… with just ten students, did you actually have a team to cheer for? :)
@ — thanks, friend!
yeller — i wasn’t a big fan of 27 dresses (sad to say)… someday i’ll give it another chance! :)
debra — we DO have a lot in common! i can’t wait to cash in on that hug.
heidi — no surprises? at all? come on! cheerleader surprises even ME!
ed — your comment cracked me up. it was so… loaded. i love it. as for cheerleading… it was for basketball. and we were VERY lame. and hearing you say you can’t picture me lazy makes me feel better about my plan to sleep really late tomorrow.
TM — i got the heebie jeebies just reading “brown recluse spider”!
Hey, that was cool. I always thought Harrismith was laden with far more eat-out places than PR- we have two KFCs!!! Look forward to having you back, even though it’ll be ages before we meet face-to-face. Miss ya.
thanks, friend…
These were great. Thanks for sharing! I had many laughs and surprises. I am glad the tick bite didn’t keep you from SA.
SERIOUS?!?!?!?!?!! I TOTALLY commented on this! Rrrg. Pooey.
Well, I said it was great and beautiful, and you did an awesome job ’cause it read like a story, and most of the time I get bored on 20 things, but I just kept reading and you should, like, give lessons on lists for, like, MySpace and Facebook and stuff.
that’s all.
I can’t read this now…but I will come back, I just wanted to finish out catching up on your blog but of course it is something monumental and gigantic. But I promise to come back and soak up you. I heart you and I am happy to have something to come back to later. You seriously are a rock star and I am thankful to know you.
annie — give list lessons, eh? maybe that’ll be my next career choice.
motts — you make me smile big.

i’m sure by then you’ll be blowing us all away with your crazy-high readership! :)
i know this much is true: i’ll definitely still be reading, friend!
