do something
We just launched our Thrive Africa online store.
We’ve got custom t-shirts, hoodies, mugs, bracelets, and coffee, and the proceeds go directly to funding our ministry in South Africa.
I love all our merch, but by far my favorite is the coffee. Because it’s unique. I mean, lots of organizations sell t-shirts. But c’mon! Who has their own custom blend of coffee?! So fun that we do.
It’s fair-trade and organic. And it’s made with all African-grown beans.
From Africa, for Africa.
I love that!
So take a look around. Maybe you’ll see something you like. You can even create a wish list to give someone an oh-so-subtle hint.
Will you help spread the word?
You can tell people about Thrive. Blog or tweet about our new online store. Grab one of these graphics to put up on your site.

Help us train African leaders and turn the tide of the AIDS pandemic.
Do something.

wooohooo!!!!! YES! I can’t wait to “Do Something” with you next month! yay!
Umm this made me want to buy a plane ticket, some nyquil and a book. Hop a flight, sleep and finally wake up at “home”.
My heart aches to be home. Again.
I love you! Ps. I LOVE the Tshirts!
Love this! I’ll do what I can.

thanks, carrie!
Serious business: On one of my numerous lists of things to do, there is an area for planned discretionary spending in the next round of paychecks and one of the things on the list is Thrive Africa stuff.
Not sure if we’ll use the coffee in our house but we will certainly take a look at some of the other merch and do what we can!
@gritandglory says:
i appreciate that so much, paul – thank you!
@atangie says:
I am in awe! This is fab-u-lous!
Also, loving the blog tweaks happening around here. Is Shauna helping you?
@gritandglory says:
thank you! i’m loving my new sidebar. (i’m calling it The Grit’s botox treatment while she waits for her face lift.)
i’m using Cross & Crown Productions (http://cacpro.com/) for all my extreme makeover stuff. they’re the ones who built the new Thrive store and designed all our merch. they’re also helping us rebrand ourselves as a ministry with a complete overhaul of all our logos and marketing materials. they have done an amazing job!
@PrudyChick says:
I was checking out those bracelets yesterday. I commented to my hubby that they were nice and not the silicone ones that are everywhere. Come one paycheck momma needs some Thrive Africa stuff.
Oh and side comment. I was blown away by the statistic on the t-shirt (1 in 4 South Africans have HIV). I’m encouraged that Thrive Africa is there educating the people there. I know that corruption is rampant there in the government and lies are told to the people about AIDS and HIV. Praying for opened eyes.
@gritandglory says:
it’s mind-blowing, isn’t it? 1 in 4. that means everyone is either infected or affected by it. the reality can be overwhelming at times.
@maryjohess says:
I’m making my wish-list and I put a button on my blog! :)
@maryjohess says:
Also, I LOVE LOVE LOVE your new sidebar look! That pic of you in “My Story” is beautiful!
@gritandglory says:
thank you for putting a button up on your blog! i so appreciate it!
I heart my Thrive mug. Did I tell you that my boss from this summer bought me one? And a bracelet? Got a package on Monday… “happy engagement” card and all. Sweetest thing ever.
I was there when she bought it. She was soooo excited!
@gritandglory says:
i love that she did that. so, so thoughtful!
I just got my Thrive Africa mug from Roo…I love it! I went to order coffee and I just get fatel errors on the store page when I try to shop there… : (

You are welcome! I love that I can try to get others connected to your ministry through my blog!
@Nomadstacey says:
Leaving behind my secret home, I am SO excited to get my Thrive stuff! I have a feeling I’ll be wearing my shirt all the dang time!
I am LOVING the new look, Alece! The 10 words got a revamp and so did The Grit!

@bajanpoet says:
I’m gonna see how I can rework my site to get Thrive logos on The Hand of God … Thanks for being YOU!
@gritandglory says:
fun! thank you!
Yes where is the buy plane ticket link? ;-) I have a request. How about some grit and glory shirts or cool stuff? I would so wear a g&g shirt! It might up your readers and by doing that bring light on thrive as well. What ya think?
@gritandglory says:
it’s in the works. after The Grit gets her face lift, we’ll design a shirt that goes along with her new look.
love hearing that you would buy/wear one. wasn’t sure if it would really sell or not…
Oh me too … I want one!
@gritandglory says:
you are SO sweet! love knowing you’d wear a Grit & Glory t-shirt!
I really wish I could DO more…
…And I pray one day, if God is willing, I shall be able to DO more.
@gritandglory says:
we added square 125 x 125 options for both badges!
Totally going to put that link on my blog … anything to support you and Thrive Africa! Love you!
