Obviously, I am SUPER spiritual.
Lord, shatter me and my life into a thousand pieces for Your glory. Ruin me. Any way You want.
O Lord…. if I never get married, never have children of my own, I’ll still love you. Still seek your fame and keep dancing, and still praise you. If I never see my earthly family again, that’d be ok too.
those are hard words to write. to believe. to swallow.
This was a prayer prayed by one of my seminary profs that has stuck w/me for years… it is penned by some theologian but I don’t know his name. The part about being the “voice for the voiceless” gets me every time…
“God of infinite horizons, by your Spirit you have opened new places in the heart for us your servants. With a newborn’s eyes, You have given us visions of your Kin-dom beyond the soft pews and climate-controlled Christianity we know so well. By your wild and un-tame-able Spirit, You have energized our souls for communities of promise and hope beyond the borders of language, skin color, economic or social position. Un-domesti-cate-able Spirit, touch our lips to be the Voice of the Voiceless, use our hands and guide our feet with the passion of Your testimony until in harmony we grow together in the fullness of Christ. Amen.”
Amen!
God, please move in me until I’m ready for the next step.
That’s dangerous for two reasons. One, Him moving in me could cause crazy things! And two, “until I’m ready” could be a long time (frustrating) or tomorrow (scary)!!
Lord, let me serve you even if it means I lose my children.

i love that the last verse is about being foolish enough. perfectly phrased… been thinking on that, myself.

One of my favorite devo prayers:
“Help me to make You the first place I run to when I have longings in my heart. I don’t want to waste time turning to other things that will never satisfy the need I have for intimacy with You. My soul waits for you, Lord” (Psalm 33:20). ~ Stormie Omartian
I am out of prayers…
Holy moly. That’s…wow. I’m gonna retweet that :)
Lord, I trust You. My YES is on the table. May I be surrendered that Your Spirit can move me in a mere breeze to be who You want me to be, to where You want me to go, and to what You want to do, for Your glory. Even though that means I will live the rest of my life as a stranger and alien in this world.
