60/366
And today, February 29th, feels like a bonus. It’s an extra day, and it’s got me thinking about what I want to do with it.
I know every single day is a gift. Even Mondays. I know today is no more special than yesterday or tomorrow. But still it seems to be challenging me a little differently.
It’s got me thinking more uniquely about the fact that what I’ve been given — these 24 hours, these however-oh-so-many breaths, these moments — are once in a lifetime.
I want to live today with purpose and intentionality. I want to see what’s in front of me, hear what’s between the words being said, and live from my heart. I want to give more than I get, focus on others more than myself, and choose the next wise thing.
I want to steward today — day 60 of 366 — as best I possibly can. And I want to steward every day that follows just as well…
Leap Year. February 29th. Let’s do this thing right…
What will you do with the gift of today?

Every day I wake up praying that I’ll be better today than I was yesterday – a better teacher, husband, friend. I guess today is an extra day to try to do that. That’ll hopefully put me ahead of the game for March. :)

I got to work early today for the first time in forever. I think it’s because of Leap Day.

I just found this amazing site — a creative and unique way we can re-gift our Leap Day. BRILLIANT!

Thanks for your insight. Looking for all things good and wise on this Leap Day. Homeschooling my precious son today and reading God’s word. It’s a good day.

i’m kinda hoping my nephew who is 5 days overdue at this point decides to make a break for it before midnight. i think that would be pretty sweet. other than that i hope I can say something funny in my class tonight.

That is awesome! I am hoping that my first son will decide to join us today as well! Although I have heard that for official purposes they will require us to choose either Feb 28 or Mar 1 as the birth date.
Here is to hoping with you!
@gritandglory says:
I never knew that they made you pick either 2/28 or 3/1… which would you want to go with if your son decides to make his appearance today?!
@sheddmatt says:
I am not really sure! My birthday is in February, my wife’s is in March. I tried to tell her that all the best birthday’s are in February, which may have sealed his fate as a March baby. Either way, I will happily celebrate his birthday every leap year on the 29th.

THAT is awesome! C’mon, Nephew!

The gift of today…I love the sound of that.
I am spending this day working out some theology, then spending a great deal of time with my lovely wife. Treat today like everyday because everyday is important.
I made up with a friend!

Today I bought a new amp (getting back into playing electric guitar again) and I played some pool with friends at a local dive bar. Also I spent 30 minutes giving another friend of mine relationship advice which was really weird as I’m the perpetually singlest guy I know. :oD

My extra day was spent at work, then at the dentist…. blech!
the best part of my day was picking up my kids after they had been away for 5 days. It’s hard for all of us to get back into “mom’s house” routine on Wednesdays so I tried my darndest to intentionally “be” with them… Whether it be stopping what I was doing to look them in the eyes while they were talking to me or scratching their backs and praying with them before bed. It was a good day.
