silent saturday

This morning I’ve been overwhelmed with this thought:

God does His best work when the fire gets the hottest, the night gets the darkest, and the fear gets the loudest. Keep waiting. Redemption is coming.

On this Silent Saturday, I need to remind myself of that truth.

He died a death we deserved to die, our mortal life in exchange for His eternal one.

No matter how long our Saturday is, redemption is coming.

Keep waiting.

I read an article a long time ago (can’t remember where exactly) that said, “as with the cross, our darkest hour may be God’s finest moment. It may be there where he does his greatest work; albeit unseen to us.”

I believe that to be true.

    Happy Saturday to you.

It appears as though God had the same thoughts as you and I! I love your statement “No matter how long Saturday is, keep waiting, redemption is coming!” Hope you have an amazing Easter!

  4. Alece, this is where my heart has been stuck as well. God is speaking. Loudly. On one hand I must ask, “what about SATURDAY?” To which God replies, “what ABOUT saturday?” We wait, we wonder, we hope. Thank you so much for this.

This video was a great reminder of what Jesus did for us. I still struggle with why God created us if he new we would betray him. I wish we could all understand the love God has for us then we might understand this question. I love that something terrible for Jesus was the best thing for us. God took his death and made it something amazing. All we can do is stand in awe of their love for us speechless.

Sometimes God speaks the loudest in the silence.

Or maybe we’re just better able to hear Him.

Praying He’s speaking TO you, cause I know He’s speaking THRU you!
Love and hugs from VA! and Happy Resurrection Day! His Resurrection is evident in you!

Been a Christian my whole life, and yet I still get stuck on one part that leaves me confused…. the part where Jesus asks God why he has forsaken him… why does he ask that if he knew all along what would happen? and what the outcome would be? That is one thing I’ve never heard a sermon on or been able to figure out on my own.

Loved that video, but couldn’t get over the Janet Jackson voice. ;o) HA!

My take on that is that, even though Jesus knew the the cost/what it would take, He had never experienced separation from Father God. He lived in perfect communion with the Father and the Holy Spirit in the eternity that existed outside of time. In His holiness, God cannot look on sin and Jesus had taken on not just the human condition of sin, but also the entire weight of every individual act of rebellion, every sin of every person in the world for all time. And Father God turned His back on sin. Jesus experience that separation, that horrible forsakenness, and I think that may have been a huge factor in His death. The weight of the guilt of sin combined with separation from the Father. I don’t know for sure (obviously), just my thoughts.

“He never said a word that wasn’t true…..”

    “God so loved every FACE…..”

That was so good. Thank you for sharing these, I never would’ve seen them otherwise.

    I love that
“no matter how long our Saturday is…”

sometimes that Saturday can seem so long
    unending

but thank God we know the end of the story
thank God we have the hope of redemption
