little by little

My heart’s been stuck for a while on my need to better grasp God’s truth. I’ve been working hard to recognize my own lenses and replace them with the filter of His Word. I battle daily to see myself the way He sees me, instead of how others do or—worse—how I do. I am being intentional about exchanging the lies I believe for the truth of God, and choosing to live based on truth rather than reality.

It’s a process. A journey. And a lifelong one at that.

It’s slow-going.

But I’m taking steps forward.

I find it hard to remember that baby steps are progress. But I know they are. I know that “little by little” is more than just okay.

At times, it’s exactly what God wants from me.

I can really relate. You can call me Jacob if you’d like because I feel like I’ve been wrestling with God and with his word. What has come out of all the confusion and theology is to seek him and worry less about my own understanding.

God is so good to us.

    Little by little. Amen.

not to take away from the sincerity of your posts, but every time i hear/see the words “baby steps”, i can’t keep myself from thinking of bill murray in what about bob. :)

    k, moving on…

in truth, i’m so not a baby steps kind of person. i’m not the kind of person that easily or readily remembers that the process is as holy and good as the outcome. i’d rather skip ahead, get to the point, cross the finish line on my first (or second) step.

and yet, God, in all His wisdom and love (and possibly a litte humor) has filled this entire year with little else than baby steps.

hope you’re doing wonderfully in SA.

my little pumpkin loves this song and we sing it together every day before she goes to bed. that’s her favorite line and she sings it over and over.

Even little steps demonstrate huge courage, strength and trust in the One you’re crawling towards.

    Still praying.

No matter how long thoses steps are, or how hard it is to take them, the only important thing is to keep moving forward.

Joy thinks of a movie, in my head I am hearing the Howie Kendricks tune, “Keep On Truckin”. It’s only an R&B song, but I think it is all we can do when faced with a hurdle life has thrown at us.

    Just keep on truckin Alece.

tiptoeing. all the way in His bosom.

    Massaging my shell

  10. annie says:

Amen! I love it. Baby steps.
