i hate being cold
I’m Africa-bound today. And hoping I can sleep through most of the 15-hour flight. As usual.
I’m not sure yet how much I’ll be able to blog while I’m there. I’ve got a few posts scheduled to go up this week, but beyond that… I don’t know. I’m gonna try to still post as often as usual, but … no guarantees. It depends on a lot. Like if I’ll even have internet. Or power.
Or if my fingers are too cold to type.
Because I’m leaving the summery sunshine to go back to winter. And if you have doubts, believe me it gets cold where I live in South Africa. We get snow. And we have no indoor heating.
Here’s to seeing my breath in my bedroom when I wake up in the mornings!
Ugh.
I hate being cold.
But rest assured. If I have power and internet and non-frozen appendages, I’ll be blogging.

Say hello to South Africa for me. I miss it terribly.
1 week from today and 1 year ago was when I first set foot in South Africa. It is freezing this time of year. I’ll be praying. I know you’ll need it! I’ll be praying whenever I put on my socks because it will remind me that you need warmth too. :]
Oh great! I picked a shell and an ocean. Not even close to what you have. Hmmm… a prompter that you may have.
Got it. wait a minute. Got it. Everytime I push my bangs out of my face. (I do it a trillion times a day)

As far as “your” prayer prompter…um, seriously…I don’t mean to sound ridiculous, but really, there are to many to list.
Oh sucky. I’m so sorry you have to go back to winter. Seriously, this is a sad thing for me. Up here we (or maybe just me) live for the 3 short months of fantastic weather. Which is right now. Leaving this to go back to winter …. SAD. :] Even more bravery on your part in my book. :)
Ish! I hate cold too, and I soooooooooo remember the cold there. I should have left my fingerless gloves there for you, they helped me tons!!!! :) I know I already said this, but I’ll say it again….I wish I was going with you :)
I will remember you whenever I flip my hair …. yeah that’s a lot. Remember why you founded Thrive? Remember your goals and aspirations for this great nation and continent. They need you Alece. I know that at this point it is hard to go back, but you can do it. The Lord will be with you the whole way. We love you, Alece!
Kitty, I’m sitting in the fishbowl with mittens on my hands and watching the SNOW FALLING. Shame… it’s really cold. But, my heart is warm, and I’ll be waiting for you at the airport with a big (fleece covered) hug!!!
I’ll pray every time I push up my glasses. That you’ll see clearly with His eyes.
Oh, and when you’re feeling chilled, you can always wrap yourself in Joyce’s bathroom curtains! ;)
We’ve got the space heaters running right now. It’s super expensive… but worth every cent.

about an hour after this post went live, i heard that our base in south africa was completely covered in snow. are you kidding me!?!?

Shame!!!! I will be praying for warmer weather for you….I have experienced a south African winter many times…didn’t believe that it actually.got cold the first time I went…ohhh it is FREEZING!!!! And I can’t stand it when my feet get cold!!! So I will be prayin’ for ya!
